The successful candidate will provide services for Acute Inpatient Psychiatry, Consult Liaison Psychiatry, Emergency Psychiatry, and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). The position provides the psychiatrist with protected time for clinical, administrative, and academic duties.The successful candidate will provide clinical and academic services as a member of the provincial Department of Psychiatry and will hold appointments with both the University of Saskatchewan and the SHA. Appointment with the University will be at the assistant, associate or full professor level.The Regina Area with the SHA has a psychiatry residency training program, which is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents with the .Call coverage provides for a balanced lifestyle as it is shared with all other psychiatrists in the department and is approximately once monthly.The (SHA) is the largest organization in Saskatchewan, employing over 44,000 employees and physicians responsible for the delivery of high quality and timely health care for the entire province. We are driven by the commitment to improve front line patient care for Saskatchewan people, and we are working together to better coordinate health services across the province to ensure that patients receive high quality, timely health care, wherever they live in Saskatchewan.
Physicians may have the opportunity to teach undergraduate and post-graduate education at the University of Saskatchewan (USask). The has a province-wide model of distributed medical education designed to foster a province-wide College. The College has a well-resourced framework across the continuum that results in quality community partnerships, successful and comparable students across all sites, elevated community health, and better graduate retention in communities.Job Qualifications
- The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.

- Please note Psychiatrists interested in obtaining ECT certification/training will be considered, however, preference will be given to candidates who have completed the training requirements of the CPSS.
