Your Role:Administer employee benefits programs and leaves of absence at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). Ensure federal, state, and organizational policy compliance in FMSC’s multi-state environment. Locations include Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Texas.Pay, Schedule, & Benefits:
- The anticipated starting range is $24.35-$26.78. This compensation range considers a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experiences, as well as internal equity.
- This is a full-time non-exempt (hourly) position. Typical work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday primarily during daytime business hours.

What You’ll Do:
- Administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA and state-regulated leaves. Process requests, determine eligibility, issue notices, track progress, and facilitate transitions back to work. Serve as a central point of contact for employees, managers, and HR throughout leave processes.
- Facilitate paid leave claim processes alongside insurance carrier and Benefits Manager for disability and state-regulated leave programs. Ensure proper processing and payment of claims.
- Ensure benefits compliance. Monitor regulation changes, measure business impact, and recommend courses of action. Manage audits, filings, reporting, and distribution of plan notices and disclosures (e.g. Form 5500, SAR, Non-Discrimination Testing, CMS Disclosure). Document and continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Keep abreast of industry standards and employment law changes related to benefits and leave programs.
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of FMSC’s benefit programs.
- Provide key support for the annual benefits open enrollment activities.
- Monitor ACA eligibility: pull and analyze reports, communicate guidance, and offer coverage when necessary.
- Develop internal communication materials as needed, including guides, presentations, and webinars.
- Promote a healthy employee culture through positive, professional interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications:
- Commitment to support, promote, and authentically communicate FMSC’s Christian mission and goals.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in related field and 2 years of experience in benefits and leave administration required. In lieu of degree, relevant work experience will be considered.
- Thorough understanding of federal and state employment regulations (FMLA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.). Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced competency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with HCM software required; Paycor preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service focus.
- Able to prioritize, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
- Able to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and exercising sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Task-oriented. Driven to complete tasks and achieve results.
- Demonstrated experience improving processes and procedures.
- Able to use discretion and safeguard confidential information.
Your Team:
- Work location is Illinois (Aurora, Libertyville, Schaumburg) or Minnesota (Chanhassen, Coon Rapids, Eagan). Position will have a flexible/hybrid work schedule that allows for both office and remote work.
- Reports to Benefits Manager.
