We are on the lookout for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team based in Toronto, Ontario. This role primarily revolves around managing and processing vendor invoices, auditing employee expenses, preparing payments, and maintaining accurate vendor records. This opportunity offers a short term contract employment opportunity working downtown Toronto, Ontario (hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office).Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and promptly process incoming vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Enter invoices into the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central accounting system and take necessary action to resolve any discrepancies
  • Conduct audits on employee expense reports using the Concur expense management system, ensuring adherence to company policies and approval workflows
  • Verify the documentation and accuracy of reported expenses and prepare biweekly payments according to established schedules
  • Maintain and update vendor records in the accounting system, including contracts and payment terms, subject to approval where required
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and related issues
  • Reconcile vendor statements and promptly resolve any outstanding balances or issues
  • Conduct bank accounts reconciliation and book AP transactions to the GL while reconciling AP sub ledgers and managing Expense Accruals
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to accounts payable
  • Provide necessary documentation and explanations for external and internal audits regarding A/P transactions
  • Support the senior finance team with management reporting on an ongoing basis
  • Contribute to the implementation and adherence to strong accounting, financial, compliance, and risk management policies, practices, and procedures across the organization
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and assist in implementing these improvements
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required within the scope of the role.
  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is necessary
  • Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-starter, excellent initiative, and team player
