Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Lending Services within BCS includes three pillars working collaboratively to provide end to end service support to our Capital Markets and BFS business partners for lending products and supporting administrative agent responsibilities when mandated. The prime objective of the Associate, Verification position is to provide verification support to the deal closings and day-to-day administration / processing of an assigned group of Borrower Names for which RBC is a counterparty in primary syndications or secondary loan trading, Lender Participant and/or Administrative Agent and their related credit facilities, loan drawings and fee and interest payments.What will you do?Responsible for ensuring loan integrity and compliance against bank policies, agent notices and loan credit agreement.Responsible for escalations of questions related to complex transaction processing and be client facing (Client or Agent Banks) for inquiry investigation and resolution.Responsible to interact with internal stakeholders as required to facilitate loan servicing.Provides expert processing and verification advice and support to peer Associates and Analysts including monitoring advancement of funds within the Credit Agreement terms, as well as post sales servicing across the Wholesale Loan Book in Capital Markets.Provides relief for Manager Verification, peer Associates and Analysts during vacations and other absences, and assists with the development of peer Analysts through coaching and training.Keeps Manager and Senior Leaders aware of any issues and escalate appropriately to ensure messaging and communication is streamlined.Collaborates across pillars to provide excellent end to end servicing including identification of operational risk events and implementation of tactical controls as requiredWhat you need to succeed?Must-havesAn Undergraduate Degree with a strong operational background (2+ years) and related experience with proven demonstration of knowledge in lending/credit practices including knowledge of syndication practices, loan documentation, lending products, funding mechanisms in Canadian, US, UK/EU, SY markets.Proven ability to develop and manage strong and effective relationships with internal and external business partners.Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines.Proficient with systems and diverse application and ease of adopting new and complex technology (i.e. the Loan Funding systems – ACBS, CID, CCMS, TMS, etc.)Strong knowledge of lending products, rate-setting methods, payment methods and loan trading processProficiency in Excel, Word and ACBSAbility to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines.Strong time management and organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail, judgment, flexibility, and dependability.Ability to respond effectively to requests from Borrowers, syndicate participants, or loan trading counterparties as applicable to RBC’s role especially for accommodations which fall outside the parameters of the Credit AgreementExcellent written and oral communication skillsWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
