Job description
This position reports to the site Manager, Programs & Services – Employment Services for statistical reporting; providing customer support in the resource centre, customer follow-up during case management, recruitment advisor employer follow-up and a variety of administrative duties which support the work of the team.What You Will Do
- Provides enhanced customer service in person or over the phone; track all calls, inquiries and encounters; and provides an orientation of available programs and services at WoodGreen to customers as required.
- Ensures compliance with Agency Policies and Guidelines, Strategic Direction and Contractual Guidelines.
- Assisting customers to complete computerized assessments in the resource centre.
- Assists Employment ServicesTeam with monthly telephone customer status follow-ups, as required.
- Generates monthly reports, updated program tracking documents and ensures that all data is accurate focusing on data integrity.
- Performs administrative duties including photocopying, updating of print and electronic media, filing, faxing, e-mailing, statistics management, incoming and outgoing mail, generating payment requisitions, ordering office supplies, meeting room bookings and set-ups, petty cash, etc.
- Assists with community outreach, including preparation and distribution of flyers, program brochures, both hard and electronic media, and other marketing activities.
- Provides back-up reception duties and assists with office safety and security.
- Responsible for upgrading training and education as directed by WoodGreen Community Services to fulfill the responsibilities of the job.
- Participates in regular staff and team meetings with the unit.
- Ensures the anti-racism objectives and community development principles of the organization are achieved within the program
- Responsible for representing the unit on internal staff committees as directed by the Unit Director.
- Performs other related duties as required from time to time.
What You Bring to the Team
- College graduate from 2-3 year program in Social Services, Business Administration, or related discipline
- 1-year related work experience; preferably in non-profit, Social Services.

- Knowledge of community resources, employment supports and training opportunities.
- Ability to do skills assessment with an aptitude to quickly extract and document the experience, skills and areas for development of customers.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal & customer relations skills, is well-organized & able to manage change with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Good decision making, judgement and problem-solving skills to know and understands when escalation of complex issues needs to be escalated to Management.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Word 2007, MS Office applications, CRM database software & Virtual platforms. In depth knowledge of Employment Ontario Database (EOIS CaMS) an asset.
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proven ability to respectfully work with customers of various cultural backgrounds and employment challenges, including marginalized, newcomers & persons with disabilities.
