This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong business development and partnership background in non-profit and education.How you will make an impactRevenue Generation

  • Responsible for the Corporate annual fundraising performance, including meeting targets for revenue, retention, and acquisition.
  • Lead the strategy for key fundraising initiatives, including custom corporate proposals, workplace giving, and cause marketing.
  • Proven ability to manage corporate major gift prospects as well as sponsorship prospects, from identification through to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and to personally maintain an active portfolio of prospects and supporters.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation, sales presentations, contract negotiation, and closing deals with the support from Marketing, Creative Services, Philanthropy, and Research teams as required.

Partnership Development

  • Manage an individual funnel of corporate partners and prospects (100+ constituents)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential sponsors, ensuring long-term engagement and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal Digital Learning, Programming and Content, and Marketing teams to create customized proposals, sponsorship materials and stewardship/sponsorship fulfillment reports
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between corporate partners and internal stakeholders to deliver on partnership commitments.
  • Support the Chief Executive Officer and the Director, Philanthropy and Sponsorships in advancing relationships with donors and prospects.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Working with the Marketing and Communications department, leverage digital and traditional marketing channels to enhance brand visibility and attract new corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to prioritize and inform B2B promotional efforts and campaigns which generate leads and highlight the value of partnering with TVO.

Strategic Planning

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats in the corporate partnership landscape.
  • Develop and implement a business development plan and roadmap that aligns with TVO’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on market trends, strategic initiatives, and sales performance to senior management.

People Leadership and Development

  • Consistently model TVO’s values, fostering a positive and supportive culture within the Philanthropy & Sponsorship team and across TVO as a whole.
  • Participate in relevant training to stay ahead of industry standards and serve as the TVO’s subject matter expert on corporate partnerships.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including donors, prospects and senior volunteers to enhance their commitment to TVO.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.

What you will bring to TVOEducation and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sponsorship sales and /or business development, preferably within the media, agency, education, or non-profit sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience achieving and exceeding revenue targets through successful sales and partnership development in non-profit sector.
  • Experience managing, developing, and inspiring a team.

  • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and develop actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales and marketing tools to manage leads, track progress, and generate reports.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on fostering a positive and productive work environment through cross divisional collaboration.
  • Ability to influence people (inside and outside the organization) over whom you have no direct control.
