About the positionu202F

The IT – Associate Officer will oversee the organization’s IT project portfolio, acting as the central coordination point (“Control Tower”) to ensure seamless execution, transparency, and strategic alignment across IT initiatives. This role will drive efficiency and value through LEAN project management principles, monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and optimizing resource allocation. By maintaining robust tracking systems, the Associate Officer will enable data-driven decision-making, support organizational objectives, and reinforce the IT department’s mission and vision. Additionally, it will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technology project management and leading cross-functional teams to deliver impactful IT solutions, along with strong organizational and leadership skills to facilitate collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.

 

The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia. And it will offer hybrid working conditions.

 

Responsibilitiesu202F

  •  Serve as the focal point for all information streams related to IT projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and priorities.
  • Update the project portfolio regularly to reflect current statuses, milestones, risks, and resource utilization.
  • Manage and maintain an IT project portfolio monitoring system with accurate, real-time data.
  • Develop user-friendly workflows and configure project tracking tools to create visualizations and dashboards that enhance visibility and decision-making.
  • Train teams on project management tools and methodologies, advocating LEAN practices to drive efficiency and eliminate waste.
  • Monitor progress across projects, identifying bottlenecks, dependencies, and risks to proactively address challenges.
  • Prepare concise, actionable project status reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication among project teams, ensuring alignment on deliverables.
  • Organize and lead regular project review meetings to drive collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Assess and document project risks, developing mitigation strategies in coordination with teams.
  • Collaborate on resource allocation, optimizing personnel and technical assets for maximum impact.
  • Standardize project management practices and templates, integrating LEAN methodologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through workflow analysis, aligning with industry best practices.
  • Support the annual prioritization of IT initiatives, providing insights on resource availability and project interdependencies.
  • Contribute to IT strategy development by offering data-driven recommendations derived from portfolio analyses.

 

Requirements

Qualifications and requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, Business Administration with a focus on Technology, Information Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering (with experience in technology project management), or related fields.
  • Master’s degree, or specialization in IT Project Management, MBA with a focus on Technology or Innovation, Digital Transformation and Technology Strategy, Agile Methodologies and LEAN Project Management, Computer Science with a focus on Project Management, or related fields.
  • Desirable: certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), Scrum Master (CSM, PSM), or SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
  • Extensive experience in setting up project tracking tools, managing backlogs, developing priority frameworks, estimation practices, and budgeting.
  • Strong command of project tracking, task management, and strategic alignment tools such as Jira Software, Jira Product Discovery, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with various project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN, etc.) and the ability to adapt approaches based on organizational needs. Open-mindedness and adaptability are highly valued.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive accountability.
  • Advanced level of English (oral and written).
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL).
  • Expertise in resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Experience designing and managing workflows and dashboards in Jira.
  • knowledge in project prioritization processes/techniques.

This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed-term contract of a one (1) year period, subject to a probation period according to the local legislation and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
