As our Senior Software Engineer – Fullstack, you’ll work with our world-class Engineering team. Reporting to our Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll be joining a team who have helped build companies like Chime, Twitter, Instacart, E-Trade, McKinsey, Etsy, eBay, LendingTree, Expedia and more.We’re a team of A-players who are all-in on solving big, important problems. Feeling it?REQUIREMENTSAs a Senior Software Engineer – Fullstack, you will work with our small but mighty development team to build and scale high quality financial products.Some of what you will be doing includes:

  • Delivering high quality code for features on the product roadmap, using technologies such as Typescript, ReactJS, NodeJS, and AWS technologies (Lambdas, Eventbridge, DynamoDB)
  • Architecting efficient solutions that follow best practices for secure web products
  • Partnering with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate product requirements into technical implementation plans
  • Leveling up the quality of existing codebases by identifying and breaking down risks or areas of technical debt

The skills required for this role –

  • You have 5+ years of experience building web products, with experience in multiple modern programming languages and frameworks (we use Typescript, ReactJS, NodeJS)
  • You are comfortable contributing across multiple areas of the development stack, although you may have a preference or specialty in frontend or backend
  • You have experience working directly with cloud infrastructure and services, such as Google Cloud and/or AWS (we use Lambdas, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Redshift, IAM)
  • You have a strong understanding of API protocols and best practices
  • You have experience being a senior member of a team, designing new patterns, breaking down complex requirements, and leading others to accomplish a goal
  • You get excited working with complex and secure architectures (distributed, stateless)
  • You enjoy experimentation, including working with urgency, using data to make decisions, and iterating to continuously improve
  • You are a strong communicator and collaborator who knows how to connect the dots between departments and stakeholders
  • You have experience working on an Agile scrum team with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, etc)
  • You love mentoring junior developers into world class senior devs

Bonus points –

  • You have experience working with an event driven architecture
  • You have built and maintained GraphQL APIs
  • You have experience building mobile applications
  • You have built products at scale in a SaaS, Payments, or FinTech industry

  • Market range for this role at North One is $130-150,000 CAD. At this time, we are looking for a candidate located in Canada.
