Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitWhat you’ll be doingThe position of Senior Consultant, Risk Controls within the Risk Analytics and Credit Decisioning Team contributes to the profitable growth of the retail lending portfolios by ensuring the activities related to the execution of governance and internal control activities for the Retail Products portfolios are carried out as required. As the Senior Consultant, you will build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal colleagues and other internal and external audit partners by providing assurance on regulatory governance, RCM Policy adherence, internal controls and other regulatory activities. You will be responsible for ensuring there is adequate monitoring, oversight, testing, reporting and effective challenge of business risks and regulatory requirements.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How you’ll succeedRegulatory oversight – Leverage strong analytical skills to provide effective review and challenge of regulatory process and procedure documentation, regulatory oversight of OSFI B20 Guidelines, adherence and compliance to the RCM Policy and other regulatory initiatives.Governance and controls – Develop new and/or update governance control queries due to changes to credit risk strategies/guidelines to ensure the ongoing integrity and effectiveness of the existing controls process and procedures.Controls reporting and analysis – Execute the monthly governance and internal control process for the retail lending portfolios with the purpose of determining if any exceptions/regulatory breaches exist, identifying any operational credit risk issues, identifying any data integrity issues and taking action to have those rectified. In addition, support and identify new opportunities to improve and streamline the existing reporting landscape.Audit and risk project engagement – Provide support required to fulfill internal and external Auditor requests (gather/write documentation and perform data analysis), including various annual regulatory attestations.Communication – Demonstrate well developed writing and visual presentation skills sufficient to articulate analytics results, options, recommendation and benefits. Excellent verbal communication skills, sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of information and analysis to all levels of management.Who you areYou have working experience in risk management. You have sound knowledge of risk management principles and the factors that contribute to risk, with the ability to assess, measure and monitor risk within CIBC guidelines. You demonstrate strong knowledge of credit principles and risk management relating to the residential mortgages, OSFI requirements and secured/unsecured lines and loans business.You demonstrate experience in Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot tables), Outlook, PowerPoint.You have an undergraduate degree in business or related discipline.You understand that success is in the details.
