Job Description:MEICA PROJECT MANAGER – EnvironmentInverness / North ScotlandA career opportunity has arisen for a MEICA Project Manager to join the team at Galliford Try based throughout the Highlands and Islands of Scotland for the Delivery Vehicle 2 (DV2) Framework. You should be experienced in successfully delivering multi-disciplinary projects of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment and Water schemes. The candidate will ideally be based in around the Highland area and will be required to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.What you will be doing:Assuming responsibility for the management of project delivery outputs including programme, financial position, health safety, environmental performance and progress for all allocated schemesThe ability to manage staff at varying levels, providing leadership, staff development and retention of key personnelThe ability to interact in a professional manner with senior representatives of our clientsTo have a good understanding of NEC contract conditions and an astute commercial awarenessResponsible for the day-to-day management of multiple concurrent projects to ensure the successful delivery of the project against the project KPI’s and PI’sEnsuring that all projects are delivered in accordance with current Health & Safety regulations, including CDM regulations, & Environmental legislationReview/assessment of in-house / subcontractor RAMS, Process Impact Assessments and Environmental legislationTo ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental and quality systemsLiaise with client’s staff to ensure KPI’s are met or exceeded within budget constraintsTo manage the project team ensuring that each member has a clear set of objectivesTo assist the Delivery Manager with the development of the direct labour resourcesTo assume responsibility of the financial performance of each project with overall responsibility for Profit / Loss on contracts undertakenTo produce project performance reports and participate in monthly financial / programme reviews for all schemes with the Commercial Manager, Framework Manager and Regional DirectorTo ensure compliance with all company commercial and financial proceduresComplete contract documentationEstablishing and agreeing price variations and final accountsPrepare estimates and quotations & provide tender vetting for othersTo develop a detailed project programme, in conjunction with the project planner ensuring that it is maintained to drive the project to key deliverable milestones Ascertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutionsAscertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutionsTo closely liaise with other departments, such as tendering and design, to ensure resources are correctly allocated and client requirements are fully achievedCo-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teamsProcurement of plant, materials, and specialist subcontractorsEnsure that project resources are made available to attend / undertake factory site and works testing, commissioning, and client trainingAttend internal and external review and progress meetingsAttend site visits/meetingsTo ensure all contract documentation such as, “As built” drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals are prepared in line with the client specifications and Galliford Try / client closeout timescalesAbout You:An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalentH&S qualifications (desirable)IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS),CSCS cardDemonstrable experience of working within the water / sewage and general industriesWorking knowledge of Microsoft packagesStrong team player but also able to work as an individualAbility to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlinesAble to work in a busy environment under pressureExcellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face)Possess a “can do” attitude and provide to support to other members of the team as requiredAbility to review options and be comfortable to make the required decisions for the project successWhat We Can Offer in Return:With an impressive order book of over £3.8 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
