About Aid Gate Organization “AGO”

Aid Gate Organization (AGO) is an independent national NGO in Iraq, committed to supporting Internally Displaced Persons, returnees, and vulnerable communities across all Iraqi cities and governorates. With operations in key regions such as Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Anbar, Nineveh, Diyala, and Basra, AGO focuses on rebuilding lives and promoting inclusivity for all, including minorities and persons with disabilities.

  1. Introduction
    The training program aims to develop participants’ competencies in equitable water distribution, conflict resolution related to water scarcity during climate change seasons, and the adoption of modern irrigation techniques. The program seeks to enhance agricultural productivity and expand knowledge among farmers, livestock owners, and community leaders in the districts of Shatt Al-Arab and Al-Zubair.
  2. Training Objectives
    The training is designed to:
  • Provide a comprehensive understanding of fair water distribution principles.
  • Enhance participants’ skills in effective water resource management.
  • Raise awareness of modern irrigation techniques and their benefits.
  • Equip participants with strategies to address water-related conflicts.
  1. Target Audience
    The training is intended for:
  • Farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
  • Water users and community leaders.
  • Employees of agricultural and water management departments in the targeted areas.
  1. Training Methodology
    The training will employ a participatory approach, combining:
  • Theoretical lectures.
  • Practical case studies.
  • Group discussions and interactive activities.
  • Hands-on demonstrations of modern irrigation techniques.
  1. Training Outcomes
    By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
  • Apply the concepts and techniques learned to improve water management.
  • Implement modern irrigation methods to enhance agricultural efficiency.
  • Effectively address and resolve conflicts arising from water shortages.
  • Contribute to sustainable water resource management in their communities.
  1. Follow-up and Evaluation
  • Pre- and post-assessments: To measure participants’ progress and comprehension.
  • Follow-up plan: Continuous engagement and monitoring by the AGO team to ensure the practical application of training outcomes.
  1. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Trainer: Deliver training content, facilitate discussions, and oversee practical applications.
  • Participants: Commit to full attendance and actively engage in all training activities.
  • AGO Team: Provide logistical support, resources, and follow-up to ensure effective implementation of training objectives.

Training Duration
The training will be conducted over three (3) days, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM daily.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required Qualifications
The trainer should possess the following qualifications:

  • A degree in agriculture, water resource management, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in training and capacity-building programs related to water management and irrigation.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern irrigation techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Experience working with farmers, community leaders, and local authorities.
