Work Model: On-sitePosition SummaryAs a Porter in our Building Services department, you’ll maintain a clean and organized environment across all CBN facilities. Your role will involve performing general cleaning activities, and moving materials within production areas. Job DescriptionWhat You Will DoPerform general cleaning activities such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, polishing floors, cleaning windows, removing garbage, collecting recycling, and stocking supplies.Maintain the entire building, including administrative rooms, meeting rooms, common areas, cafeterias, locker rooms, and washrooms.Move materials (goods on pallets) within specified production areas using carts, pallet jacks, mobile hydraulic lifts, and forklifts.Ensure departments are stocked with required materials and transport finished goods to designated areas.Adapt to dynamic daily tasks based on production demands and building traffic.Prepare meeting rooms and client visit areas.Various other duties and responsibilities.QualificationsKnowledge and ExperiencePrevious experience using carts, pallet jacks, mobile hydraulic lifts, and forklifts (on-the-job training provided)Previous experience in a manufacturing environmentMechanical aptitudeAbility to thrive through changing prioritiesProven excellent attendance recordSoft Skills and CharacteristicsStrong communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors both verbally and in writingTeam playerAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentProblem solving skillsAdept at identifying and resolving issues efficientlyQuick learning and multitasking abilitiesActive, forward-thinking, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyInterpersonal skillsAbility to maintain effective working relationships with coworkersMandatory RequirementsAbility to work all shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends)The job is physically demanding and requires:Continuous standing and walking for 95% of shiftBending, lifting/ lowering, pushing/ pullingAbility to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basisPhysical capability to climb up and down laddersWorking in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud (ear protection provided when required).Comfortable handling hazardous wasteSecurity Clearance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance
