Exciting Opportunity for a Construction Partner in Bristol An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Construction Partner to join a leading UK law firm in Bristol. This role offers the chance to build and lead a growing construction practice in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities. The firm is looking for a candidate with over 10 years’ experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, ideally someone with a local following or strong connections to hit the ground running. The Role The firm is seeking a driven Partner to join their expanding construction team in Bristol. Ideally, the candidate will be local to Bristol or have strong connections in the region, enabling them to quickly develop business. However, the firm is also open to candidates from larger firms who may not bring an existing client following but who demonstrate strong entrepreneurial skills and a proven ability to generate work. The firm has had a presence in Bristol for four years, recently opening a modern, state-of-the-art office in the city, marking a new phase of growth in the region. While the successful candidate will initially be the sole construction lawyer in the Bristol office, they will have immediate support from the wider construction team. If there is clear potential for growth, there is also the opportunity to expand the team by hiring an Associate or additional support. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of the firm’s construction practice development in Bristol, and the candidate will be expected to take a leading role in business development and marketing efforts. The firm is looking for someone passionate about establishing a long-term, successful presence in the Southwest region. The Ideal Candidate To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:Over 10 years of PQE in construction law, ideally from a top 50 or City firmStrong entrepreneurial skills and experience in generating work, with the ability to establish and grow relationships locallyExpertise in both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, including advising on and drafting construction contracts (JCT, NEC)A passion for business development and marketing, with a willingness to be involved in all aspects of growing a practice, from attending BD events to writing thought leadership piecesLocal connections are preferred, but candidates from other regions will also be considered, provided they bring the right calibre, attitude, and drive to succeedEquity Partnership: The firm offers an attractive equity partnership structure with two options:Equity A: Full equity with a larger contribution and a share in profits.Equity B: Partial contribution with guaranteed drawings and a bonus structure.The firm’s voting structure has been rehauled to one partner, one vote, ensuring all partners have a voice in the firm’s strategic direction.
