The breast unit has undertaken a significant line management restructure, the next phase of this restructuring is this newly created role. The Lead Nurse role is to take forward the management and leadership of the nursing function. The successful applicant will be an experienced registered nurse with a compassionate and positive leadership style. You will have a passion for developing our staff, providing exceptional care and an improvement mindset.The role will oversee the Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Breast Care Nurses, Navigators, Nursing Admin, Prosthetic Fitters and Imaging Department Assistants.You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can successfully engage with patients, staff and working as part of a multidisciplinary team, have clear decision making capabilities, be a vocal advocate for the patient and be passionate and highly motivated in ensuring high quality care continues to be delivered.This opportunity requires covering services on multiple sites therefore the ability to travel will be required.Main duties of the jobUnder the guidance, supervision and direction of the Clinical Manager and Deputy Divisional Nurse Director the post-holder is the professional/clinical leader of the nurses and support staff within his/her sphere of responsibility.The Lead Nurse will supervise the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care ensuring that nursing and corporate standards are implemented, maintained, monitored and improved upon where necessary.The Lead Nurse will ensure that nursing and relevant support staff are led, managed and developed in order to enable them to deliver the highest standards of patient care and service.The Lead Nurse will provide a highly visible, accessible and authoritative presence in their area of responsibility.
