Come join our team at Writing-on-Stone/Áísínai’pi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Southern Alberta.The Visitor Services Supervisor (VSS) is one of the key leadership positions at the park. Highlights of role and responsibilities include:
- Recruitment, supervision, leadership and mentorship of seasonal staff and volunteers to ensure program objectives and supervisory requirements are met.
- Ability to provide safe, enjoyable, and engaging experiences to park visitors and guided by policies and procedures and applicable provisions of the Provincial Parks Act to ensure customer service standards are met at the visitor service facilities under the position’s oversight including campground check-in booth, camp store and park visitor centre.
- Overseeing the field-level provision of campground reservation/ registration services in order to provide park visitors with an efficient and friendly campground check-in experience.
- Conducting and overseeing retail operations at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park by developing operational plans including pricing structure, selecting vendors, determining inventory type and quantity, and facility operating hours for the Visitor Centre and campground store.
- Administrative functions relating to the Visitor Services and Park Operations programs including revenue processing, coordinating purchasing and orders of brochures, maps, office supplies and other materials.
- Working with the Visitor Experience Team Lead to prepare marketing materials to support the promotion of Writing-on-Stone Provincial Parks’ programs and services.
- Provide housing coordination, for seasonal staff housing services located at the park, ensuring assignments check-ins and overall management of the operations are handled according to policy.

– University degree (4 years) in related discipline (business, recreation, tourism, etc.) OR
– Diploma in related discipline (business, recreation, tourism, etc.) with at least 2 years of directly related experience in progressively more responsible positions.Additional Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate with the public, staff and managers.
- Computer literacy, including strong working knowledge with the Microsoft Office Suite and website updates; can utilize technological innovation to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Knowledge of the retail industry.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to motivate, support and correct staff in a demanding work environment.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Working knowledge of accounting tasks and an understanding of financial administration.
- Current Standard First Aid certificate.
Assets:
- Understanding of Alberta Parks’ responsibilities, mandate, organizational structure, and program goals.
- Knowledge of tourism industry and ability to market and promote Alberta Parks.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Niitsítapii (Blackfoot) culture and protocols.
- Experience and knowledge of business planning, strategic planning, project planning and management.

The position requires 36.25 hours per week, with shift work during the summer season. In the summer, the successful candidate will be required to work shifts including weekends and evenings.In your resume:
