Support, Inspire, and Empower Young Learners with SEN!GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN Support to join a vibrant primary mainstream school in Bournemouth. This role is an excellent opportunity for aspiring educators, university students, or individuals passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).Role Overview: As a Primary SEN Support, you will provide individualised and small-group support to students with additional needs, ensuring they can access learning in an inclusive and nurturing environment.Responsibilities of the Primary SEN Support:
- Assist students with SEN on a one-to-one or group basis, adapting support to meet individual needs.
- Work closely with teachers to implement and modify learning strategies tailored to students’ abilities.
- Encourage independence and confidence in students, helping them develop essential life skills.
- Support pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development in the classroom and beyond.
- Assist in maintaining a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor student progress.
- Uphold safeguarding policies to ensure student well-being and safety.
Requirements of the Primary SEN Support:
- Previous SEN experience is desired.
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- University students are encouraged to apply.
- Relevant qualifications (CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
