Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Senior Manager, Communications, Personal Banking will develop and execute external and internal communications strategies that support the business objectives of the Personal Financing Products, Cards & Loyalty, Customer Engagement & Data, and Payments & Innovation teams. Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, Personal Banking, the successful candidate for this role will work closely with leaders across the Personal Banking communications team to deliver innovative communications strategies to enhance RBC’s brand.What will you do?

• Develop and execute external communications strategies for the Personal Financing Products, Cards & Loyalty, Customer Engagement & Data, and Payments & Innovation teams, ensuring consistent messaging and effective management of reputational risks.
• Develop messaging and provide coaching for media interviews and speaking opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with communication directors across Personal Banking to execute communications strategies.
• Work closely with PR agencies on the delivery of external PR campaigns.
• Execute internal communications strategies for the above businesses, including internal storytelling and employee engagement initiatives to raise awareness of these teams and leaders, and their work across Personal Banking.
• Provide support for communications measurement including media monitoring and reporting.

What do you need to succeed?

• Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field
• 7+ years of communications experience, with a focus on proactive media relations.
• Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
• Strong knowledge of communications and social media principles and best practices
• Deadline-driven and results-oriented, strong project management knowledge and time management capabilities
