Job description

The successful Teaching Fellow will support the delivery of high-quality mathematics teaching in pure and applied mathematics at undergraduate level, primarily on the BSc and MMaths programmes but possibly contributing to other relevant programmes delivered by the School. Activities include lectures, tutorials, setting and marking student assessments and providing appropriate feedback in a timely manner. In addition, the successful candidate will act as a supervisor for undergraduate student projects and assist in the delivery of computer classes as needed.In addition the successful candidate will support the development and delivery of an innovative teaching and learning strategy in the School, and contribute to the School’s administration/outreach activity when required.Please note that the successful candidate must be available to start by 1 August 2025.About the person:The successful Teaching Fellow should meet the following requirements:

  • Degree (MSci, MMath or Msc)or equivalent in Mathematics (minimum award 2:1).
  • Hold or be in the process of completing a PhD in Mathematical Sciences.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality student learning experience.
  • High level of analytical capability.
  • Willingness to supervise undergraduate student projects.

The post is offered on a full-time basis in line with the School’s teaching requirements, details of which can be discussed with the successful candidate. Candidates in the final stages of a PDRA post or nearing completion of their PhD studies are eligible and are encouraged to apply.
