Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.What will you do?Work closely with Data scientists and data analysts to understand the data needs and optimize data.Work with Architecture team to perform POCs to validate the tools and Gen AI related workCollaborate with peers to develop code in line with strategic initiatives, as well as develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document components, as per the requirements and detailed designWork in an Agile lab environment, delivering code and automation deployments on a bi-weekly basisTranslate requirements into functional specifications, and coordinate design phases, while identifying, tracking, and resolving technical issuesCreate and review technical design documents, understand how the design will be used in the code development process, and facilitate meetings to design, troubleshoot, and execute projectsParticipate in walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs, code, and unit test plansConduct thorough unit testing, often developing and leveraging automated unit testing frameworks, and improve performance of single functions through performance tuningPlan design/implementation activities, ensure technical solution quality, provide third-level support for various technologies, and drive technical platform evolution and improvementsEstimate activities/tasks required to perform design, coding, and unit testingWhat do you need to succeed?Must-haveExtensive Experience and knowledge with Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Microservices, and NoSQL/SQL databases.Experience in working with Big Data Technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Java & Scala) and ETL development competencies.Good understanding of Swagger, Codegen, Apache CXF, AngularJS, Kafka, nginxExperience with DevOps , CD/CI tools- Jenkins, GitHub, Automated Testing tools, or similar toolsStrong understanding of object-oriented design and functional programmingNice-to-haveBackground working in Fraud and AMLDocker, Kubernetes, OpenShift experiencePython experienceWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
