The role will support the Third-Party Management Officer (TPMO) in operating the Third-Party Risk Management and Outsourcing (TPRMO) policy. The TPRMO policy is in place to meet regulatory expectations and to ensure an effective control environment. The TPAM is critical in the oversight and management of the third-party supplier and adherence to the TPRMO policy.at a minimum, the assigned individual will have:
- The authority and status to manage the Third-Party Arrangement effectively;
- The skills, knowledge and experience necessary to manage the Third-Party Arrangement effectively. The required skills, knowledge and experience include a detailed understanding of the Service(s) being supplied, the outcomes M&G should expect from receiving the Service(s), the commercial marketplace for similar Service(s) and a strong understanding of the requirements of the TPRMO Policy, Standards and Framework.
Given the critical nature of this role, the TPAM is key to ensuring that M&G’s third-party relationships are both well-managed and compliant with internal policies and external regulations.Key Responsibilities:Governance and Oversight of Third-Party Arrangements:
- Chair and oversee relevant governance forums, providing facilitation, challenge, and guidance to committee members.
- Use the governance model to formally escalate concerns to the supplier and oversee the delivery of resolution
- Ensure any governance documentation is produced to the required quality standards and work with contributors to resolve any gaps and issues.
- Conduct oversight and governance processes, including risk management and monitoring of third-party arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with the TPRMO Policy and supporting standards and monitor the management of related controls.
Stakeholder and Relationship Management:
- Act as the senior point of contact between M&G and third-party providers.
- Using effective questioning and strong communication skills to build, maintain and enhance relationships with key stakeholders across the internal and external business
- Using a developed network to leverage connections across the business to help resolve issues to create opportunities for collaboration across client and third-party arrangement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, third-party suppliers and service providers ensuring collaboration to drive the business forward.
- Deliver effective stakeholder engagement to senior leadership, highlighting challenges related to third-party services promptly.
- Liaise directly with third-party providers regarding the services delivered to M&G.
Management and Monitoring:
- Ensure that appropriate mechanisms are in place to obtain appropriate management information and reporting from the Third Party to support effective Ongoing Management and Monitoring of the Third-Party Arrangement.
- Support effective ongoing management and monitoring of third-party arrangements to ensure third-party arrangements meet M&G’s standards.
- Review the various governance artifacts to ensure that they meet the required standard for governance submission
- Conduct regular reviews of data and Management Information (MI) to identify service issues and act accordingly to facilitate resolution
Third Party Oversight Measures:
- Collaborate with the first line of defence (1LOD) risk areas to manage and oversee risks and compliance issues.
- Ensure all required Risk Control Activities are completed on time.
- Provide challenge, guidance and support to the Senior Governance and Oversight Consultant in their delivery against the TPRMO policy.
Escalations and Issue Resolution:
- Provide senior support on business escalations to and from third-party suppliers ensuring these are following the appropriate Oversight processes and escalation management routes.
- Initiate and track remediation activities associated with third-party arrangements, ensuring timely completion.
- Initiating and tracking any remediation activities associated with the Arrangement and ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
- Understand and monitor issues or conflicts that arise with third-party suppliers, ensuring that problems are escalated and addressed appropriately.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience of risk management, assurance and/or supplier oversight in a regulated financial services organisation or a similarly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge and experience in managing a third-party relationship in a regulated financial services organisation or a similarly regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of the requirements of the TPRMO Policy, Standards and Framework.
- Working knowledge of regulatory & risk management frameworks.
- Working knowledge of financial services
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Working knowledge of life and pensions products, markets and competitors.
- Good knowledge of M&G systems, services and distribution methods.
