Description :Junior Accountant, CorporateVancouver, BCSalary Range: $55,000 – $65,000/yr.CMLS Financial is looking for a dynamic, hardworking Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in Vancouver BC. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will learn the business from the ground up, and also be exposed to specific business unit accounting, giving you an excellent foundation for your career at CMLS. You will also have the opportunity to learn from and interact with our dynamic leadership team from day one.In this role, you will:
- Prepare bank reconciliations for the CMLS entities;
- Reconcile the trust accounts and maintain the trust ledger;
- Assist with the month-end close process and preparation of internal financial reporting packages;
- Support the Payments team in investigating unusual transactions and reconcile differences;
- Assist with trust and financial statement audits;
- Perform month-end tasks;
- Support the wider Finance team and the business units as needed.
This role is for you if:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field;
- You have 0-2 years of related work experience in finance and accounting;
- You are an intermediate to advanced level user of Microsoft Excel, or interested in learning more about excel;
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are assertive, comfortable communicating with various types of individuals;
- You are able to work well independently as well as within a team environment;
- You possess strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail while working under tight deadlines;
- You have superior problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze various data sets;
- You take ownership of your work and demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment at all times;
- You are a driven individual who have a strong desire to learn;
- You are a quick learner with a curious mindset;
- You possess strong process and systems skills.
- You are interested in pursuing or are working towards the CPA designation;
- You have prior experience with an accounting software (Microsoft Business Central experience is an asset) and the ability to analyze and investigate the General Ledger
