Hours: Full-time, Monday to FridayAre you ready to make a meaningful impact in a pupil’s education? We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil who has recently rejoined the school. This role involves working closely with a child displaying underlying ADHD tendencies, providing essential support to help them stay focused and engaged in their learning. The pupil thrives socially with peers but requires additional guidance to achieve their academic potential. This is an immediate start position, ideal for someone committed to empowering children to succeed.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to ensure the pupil remains engaged and focused on their learning tasks.
  • Adapt lessons to meet their learning needs and help close academic gaps.
  • Support cognitive development while encouraging positive social interactions with peers.
  • Take the pupil out of the classroom when needed and help reintegrate the pupil smoothly.
  • Assist in managing behaviours associated with ADHD tendencies to maintain a productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support plans.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

  • Previous experience working with children that have special educational needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils with ADHD tendencies and academic challenges.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
  • The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and respond to the needs of the pupils.
  • Must be able to understand and follow the school’s safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies.
  • Qualifications relating to education, special educational needs, counselling, or psychology are not essential but will be looked upon favourably.
