NHS Dumfries & Galloway Acute and Diagnostics Directorate are seeking to employ a motivated, enthusiastic Nurse Endoscopist to augment the existing nursing team. This full time post is based across two sites, predominantly Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary but on occasions at the Galloway Community Hospital, Stranraer, depending on the demands of the service.The nurse Endoscopist team currently comprises of 3 nurse Endoscopists with a variety of professional interests including endoscopy training, Barrett’s oesophagus, research, service improvement and patient experience. We are keen to support the interests of our colleagues and will endeavour to support ongoing development in an area of interest to the successful candidate, related to the field of endoscopy or gastrointestinal disease. The team are well supported by the Surgical Team and are given ample opportunity for professional development, as well as encouraged to improve and maintain our professional practice. The post holder will be expected to deliver an endoscopic service in carrying out OGD’S, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy. The post holder must demonstrate specific skills in disorders of gastrointestinal tract, including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic techniques and subsequent management, to undertake assessment, education, and counselling wherever appropriate.The post holder will act as a clinical expert and professional resource to the multidisciplinary team, patients, and carers within their speciality service. They will liaise and collaborate with colleagues in the delivery of high quality, clinically effective care; prioritising and utilising evidence based and best practice.If you are interested in applying, please contact
