Location: Chalk RiverBusiness StudentThe Environmental Remediation Management portfolio supports the Government of Canada’s commitment to a clean and healthy environment for Canadians. Innovative technologies, modern facilities, and technical expertise are provided in support of the safe storage and long-term management of radioactive waste. The management and planned reduction of historic stored liquid waste created from years of lab activities are being planned for processing in a prioritized manner reducing the legacy liability and associated risks to the site and the environment. Environmental remediation processes apply systematic risk assessments, based on sound science and technical solutions that help ensure all activities are protective of the environment and human health. Activities focus on addressing and managing health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) risks. The scope includes the implementation, maintenance, and reporting of the execution of the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) for ERM. ERM will assess and report performance and progress against the Performance Measurement Baseline using the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Description (compliant with ANSI/EIA-748 Revision C).This is a very exciting opportunity for a business student and we look forward to working with the student hired as they grow their skills in our department.If you are interested, we invite you to submit a resume, cover letter, and copy of an up-to-date transcript by the posting close date of May 26th at 11:59 pm EST, to ensure consideration for student employment. • Assist with completing spreadsheets and monthly reporting.
• Assist with updating ERM Guideline tools and documents.
• Updating SharePoint Site.
• Assist the Project Management Team with the Change Proposals to update the liability with new estimates.
• Assist in monitoring and improving adherence to the CNL project process and continuously improving the process.
• Provide administrative support and assistance as required by the Project Manager.

What we are looking for:

• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with team-members, support providers, and stakeholders.
• Computer and software proficiency (MS Office, Excel).
• Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
• Good internet connectivity for remote access.
