The APP serves as a critical bridge, driving innovation in the nuclear sector.
Through the APP, students will have the unique opportunity to engage in initiatives that support and strengthen CNL’s academic partnerships, enhance students’ experiential learning opportunities, and support impactful research collaborations. The APP leverages partnerships with leading universities across Canada, to create tailored opportunities that enable students to gain exposure to advanced nuclear science, cybersecurity, and engineering challenges. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop professional skills in collaboration, planning, and program management while contributing to the advancement of nuclear science and technology. You will have the chance to work with leading professionals in the field, fostering partnerships that have a tangible impact on the industry and academia. Duration: 4-8 months (May-August with possible extension up to December)Field of Study: Undergraduate student in STEM (such as engineering, science, math, or computer science). social science or communications with strong interest in science and technology.
Year of study: 2nd, 3rd 4th yearWhat you will be doing:

• Working directly on initiatives that bridge academic and industry goals, contributing to program deliverables such as student engagement, event planning and coordination.
• Assisting in planning and delivering academic-industry technical workshops.
• Participating in the fulfillment of student engagement activities such as student summer exhibition, student site visits, guided tours, and research poster day events.
• Engaging in collaborative opportunities with CNL researchers and external stakeholders to support talent acquisition, and collaborative research programs.
• Developing content for social media, web sites and internal reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Education /Experience

• Undergraduate student in STEM (such as engineering, science, math, or computer science). social science or communications with strong interest in science and technology.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Interpersonal or technical skills, knowledge or abilities required.
• This role is ideal for a student with a strong background in STEM, Social Science or Communications who is looking to gain experience in communication in a science and technology environment.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have excellent oral and written (especially technical writing) communication skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Programming and IT Skills: Familiarity with programming and IT tools is an asset, enabling contributions to tasks such as data visualization, process optimization, and other technical applications.
• Familiarity with nuclear science and technology and/or research.
• Security Clearance Eligibility Required

• Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
