Job Description:DJSC 3rd Line Support Network EngineerLocation: Basingstoke – Onsite 5 days a weekOur purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As an 3rd Line Support Network Engineer, you will contribute to this by joining a multi-skilled, multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively across multiple services within a shared environmentYour role will involve:We are looking for an experienced and ideally Cisco-qualified network specialist with multi-year knowledge of supporting deployed systems and their network environment. Your role will involve configuring, installing, supporting and trouble-shooting Cisco Switches & Routers, Cisco ASA devices, Fortinet Fortigate firewalls and Juniper based firewalls/boundary protection devices. We are seeking a 3rd Line network engineer that can investigate, diagnose and resolve complex network-related incidents and problems. The candidate will act as a primary support POC to ensure cross-domain incidents are analysed, diagnosed and to propose rectifications. A knowledge and appreciation of military operation context and hence someone who understand the demands of live service uptime obligations in order to maintain operational capability would be preferable.Your transferable skills and experience:

  • Configuring network devices.
  • Previous experience with Juniper SRX or Fortinet FortiGate.
  • Previous experience Cisco routing and switching devices.
  • Demonstrable understanding of OSPF, EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
  • Demonstrable understanding of NAT, GRE Tunnelling protocol, DMVPN Tunnelling Protocol, Subnetting & Supernetting.
  • Previous 3rd line troubleshooting and support experience.
  • Network implementation in an offline environment.
