Position Summary and Duties The Records Office at Loyola University Maryland seeks an Academic Records Specialist who’s responsibilities include the following:
(a) Reviewing and processing electronic and paper, official and unofficial undergraduate, graduate, and graduate continuing education transcript requests for graduated, enrolled, and withdrawn students and Loyola and Mount Saint Agnes College alumni.
(b) Supporting enrollment verification processing by generating enrollment verification letters and verifying enrollment verification requests that are submitted through the NSC.
© Managing the maintenance and disposal of student records according to state and federal regulations and institutional requirements.
(d) Overseeing the scanning, indexing, and retrieval of student data transcript request information. Flag requests that are deviations from Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations for Director to review.
(e) Providing office administrative support and serving as the first point of contact for the Office at the front desk service counter.
(f) Entering data into the University SIS.
Required Qualifications High School diploma and 3-5 years of experience in a service-oriented, technology driven environment or equivalent years of education/experience
Strong PC experience, knowledge of Excel and Word.
Word processing, including data entry and entry-level reporting, browser/server software, email, use of list-servs
Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures, systems, and equipment.
Proficient in proofreading.
Well-developed research, organizational, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability for planning, organizing, and managing multiple tasks with interruptions.
Ability to maintain attention to detail.
Demonstrated success on completing projects through to completion.
Demonstrated success working independently and as a team player.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with interruptions.
Demonstrated adaptability to change (new technology, business processes, etc.).
Understanding of and commitment to the University’s mission.
