What you’ll do:

Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Develop and execute the US-focused employer sales strategy aligned with organizational expansion vision and goals.
  • Lead strategic efforts in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define and implement sales strategies, management tools, and processes to meet aggressive sales goals.
  • Leverage tools (e.g., Salesforce, Bookings, etc.) to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability.
  • Analyze trends, opportunities, and competitors within the industry that will help you develop and maintain a strong understanding of the market and the space in which we compete.
  • Collaborate with US-based team to build a robust pipeline of employer partnerships, connecting directly to decision-makers and other influencers at target companies.
  • Work with the marketing team and develop the collateral, pitch materials, and market positioning needed for successful employer conversations.
  • Adapt sales strategy and tactics based on local markets.
  • Where appropriate, pitch and develop strategic partnerships which will drive the success of the team’s work.
  • Manage employer partnerships to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction

  • Iterate and evolve value propositions for employers, adapting them for different industries/markets as appropriate.

Account Management

  • Lead onboarding for new employer partners and maintain positive relationships to retain relationships.
  • In collaboration with the Placement Operations team, support host employer through recruitment process and serve as point for host management needs.
  • In collaboration with the Placement Operations team and CIEE teams across the organization, identify key sectors and priorities to ensure placements meet the interests and needs of students and other young professionals.
  • Communicate and advocate the interests of employers to ensure successful placements and experience for both student/young professionals and the employer.
  • Manage expectations with host employers to ensure compliance with the U.S. Dept. of State’s Bridge USA (J-1 Visa) program.
  • In collaboration with Placement Operations and IT teams, support development of new tools and resources to support host sales and management.
  • Mentor and motivate junior teams members to continuously improve, be accountable and grow.

What you’ll bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years of sales-related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred (or international equivalent)
  • Ability to build and maintain high impact relationships and “close the sale”
  • A strong set of relationships with employers across a diverse set of sectors (for-profit, non-profit, govt)
  • Strong familiarity with Salesforce and other CRM tools to support sales and ongoing account management
  • Ability to represent CIEE in public settings with industry partners (e.g., at conferences, meetings with senior executives, gov’t officials, foundations, etc).
  • Excellent administrative and organization skills with the ability to effectively coordinate a large variety of activities.
  • Must exude professionalism both internally and externally to CIEE and be committed to company values and stated goals.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills adaptable to all types of audiences including participants, faculty, Board members, employees, and industry partners.
  • Ability to work through and resolve a wide range of issues and be an exemplary ambassador of CIEE and its mission and programs.
  • Ability to function well in a complex institutional framework, have a high tolerance for ambiguity and flexibility, and be able to respond quickly and appropriately to changing circumstances.
