Schedule: 35 hours per week, Remote with 1 to 2 days a month in office
Summary of Duties:
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer, the Accountant provides support with accounting and financial reporting for the Lil’wat Business Group.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
· Maintain and reconcile Accounts Receivable.
· Maintain the Accounts Payable for Lil’wat Business Group.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations.
· Coordinate quarterly inventory counts and prepare account entries.
· Coordinate amortization and accounting for all Lil’wat Business Group assets.
· Analyze project successes and failures.
· Assist in providing variance analysis, actual vs. budgeted revenues, and expenditures.
· Monitor and report on key business performance indicators, providing solutions where applicable.
· Perform analysis on product gross margins, pricing, and promotions.
· Support Lil’wat Business Group promotion marketing efforts.
· Assist in planning Lil’wat Business Group projects and monitoring their progress.
· Ensure Lil’wat Business Group projects adhere to designed frameworks.
· Filing of Lil’wat Business Group correspondence, documents and reports.
· Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- 3-5 years experience working in an economic development or corporate environment
- Completion of Post Secondary Schooling as a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or CGA (Chartered General Accountant) or CMA (Chartered Management Accountant) would be preferred.
· Courses in finance or bookkeeping certification are an asset.
- Knowledge of SAGE or similar accounting software is preferred.
- A solid understanding of financial and budgetary principles.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
