About the Opportunity
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data and compliance with payroll policies
- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and financial statements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
- Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
- Stay informed about changes in payroll and accounting regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and tasks as required
- Provide assistance to Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) departments when required, including invoice processing, vendor payment, and student billing/collection
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in accounting and payroll software
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA candidate is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing and general accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Excel. (pivot tables, vlookups)
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
- Discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
Salary Range
