I’m looking for a Senior Accountant to step into a newly created role, offering you the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day accounting and strategic financial analysis. Reporting directly to the Controller and collaborating with a dynamic team of 8, this role offers a perfect balance of operational and strategic responsibilities, and opportunities to grow within!Please note: this position requires you to be in Ontario and in the local area, as this is an on-site position.What our client has to offer:

Responsibilities:
- Manage journal entries and month-end/year-end procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including weekly Service Division Manager updates and safety training metrics.
- Assist with updating and tracking annual and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
- Oversee tax filings and government remittances, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Complete monthly account and bank reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Monitor expenses and overheads, providing insights into cost management and variances.
- Work with the Regional Controller on fleet management and AR.
- Review hourly payroll processed by the Payroll Administrator and manage salary payroll for the region.
- Process EFTs and manage banking files to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with financial or operational requests and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Mentor administrative staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- CPA is a MUST
- Progressive candidate with 5 years of experience
- Construction experience an asset
