About the Company
Our client is a supplier in the fabric care and laundry industry. They are looking for an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for responsible for providing reliable and timely day-to-day full cycle accounting support which includes ownership of the GL, financial reporting and analysis and overseeing operational accounting as it relates to AP/AP/Payroll. Payroll is processed through third-party, Ceridian. The role will have the opportunity to support and mentor junior staff.Why Work Here

About the OpportunityAccounts Payable, Payments & Inventory Control

  • Oversee Accounts Payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Manage three-way matching of POs, invoices, and receiving records.
  • Prepare monthly A/P ageing reports and inventory tracking reports.
  • Conduct inventory costing, variance analysis and oversee physical inventory counts.
  • Investigate and correct receiving errors, making necessary adjustments in NetSuite.
  • Coordinate and prepare cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers for payment.
  • Reconcile A/P balances with vendors and resolve discrepancies.

Purchase Order & Inventory Management

  • Generate and issue Purchase Orders to suppliers in anticipation of customer demand.
  • Work with the CFO to manage foreign exchange purchases and ensure adequate funds for orders.
  • Monitor and follow up on expected delivery timelines, keeping the sales team informed.
  • Ensure compliance with CSA and TSSA regulations when ordering equipment.
  • Accurately receive inventory into NetSuite.
  • Maintain equipment price lists, ensuring up-to-date pricing for sales quotes.
  • Oversee equipment inventory, shipments and brokerage, ensuring accurate invoicing and tracking of sold products.

Payroll

  • Manage the payroll function, including calculating commissions, making related journal entries and maintaining compliance with CRA, WSIB, EHT, etc.

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Review A/R aging reports and outstanding receivables, prepared by the A/R Manager.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and prepare related monthly journal entries.
  • Draft monthly financial statements, providing insights and variance analysis to the CFO.

IT & Office Support

  • Oversee basic IT resources for the office, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
