Are you looking for an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the charity sector? Our client is seeking an Accounting Officer to support their finance and accounting team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:– Review invoices for accuracy and consistency.
– Ensure payables are correctly entered into the accounting system.
– Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts.
– Track and submit bank deposits.
– Perform general ledger reconciliation for payables and receivables.
– Reconcile petty cash and support month-end close processes.
– Assist with ad-hoc accounting and finance tasks as required.Qualifications:– Post secondary education in accounting or a related field.
– Proficiency using accounting software.
– Experience in the charity sector is an asset.
– Versed working in a paperless, virtual environment.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
– Ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels.
