We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable, assisting with month and year-end processes, and undertaking other accounting functions.Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of around 30 invoices daily.
- Handle collection calls and maintain clean records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
- Undertake minor project work, such as coordinating vendors to email invoices to a centralized email box.
- Provide assistance in cash applications during vacation periods.
- Utilize accounting software systems for accurate record keeping and reporting.
- Carry out billing functions as required.
- Conduct accounting functions in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Specialist role or similar
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Demonstrable experience in handling Accounting Functions
- Knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with Billing Functions
- Familiarity with Month End Close processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
