The day in the life of an Accounting Specialist:
- Service a portfolio of clients who outsource their accounting or financial controller responsibilities to Richter.
- Act as the main point contact for all client’s questions and requests.
- Perform the complete accounting cycle for various clients (which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, monthly journal entries and trial balance item justification).
- Prepare GST/HST- QST, and the appropriate filings.
- Prepare and file government reporting documents.
- Prepare bank reconciliations, monthly and/or quarterly financial statements, or client-specific financial reporting documents and tax slips. (T4, T5, NR4 etc.)
- Responsible for meeting client and government deadlines.
What we are looking for:
- College diploma (DEC) or vocational program diploma (DEP) in Accounting, Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 to 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience in an accounting firm is an asset
- Good knowledge of accounting and complete accounting cycle
- Sound technical knowledge of payroll and sales tax
- Perfect French is required, English is an asset
- Analytical skills and results-oriented
- Good interpersonal skills and dynamic attitude
- Enjoys teamwork
- Excellent knowledge of Quickbooks Online
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of CaseWare/CaseView, an asset
- Eager to learn, progress and advance his/her career
