You’re a results-oriented individual who is looking to be part of a great team!Paying meticulous attention to detail and being efficient are part of your core competencies.You have a knack for understanding and navigating accounting systems.If you’re nodding yes, this Accounting Technician role within the Third Party Administration (TPA) team at Cowan Insurance Group may be perfect for you!What you will do:Reporting to the TPA Finance Supervisor, the Accounting Technician is responsible for the following:

  • Perform bank reconciliations ensuring proper support for bank transactions is provided and using professional judgement to identify any unusual transactions requiring additional investigation or support
  • Calculate, analyze, and process company premium remittances and broker commissions on time and accurately
  • Process intercompany transfers and implement appropriate tracking of transfers
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of the processes related to assigned tasks and suggest improvements
  • Understand the role of each team within the TPA department and how your work impacts Cowan
  • Prepare reconciliations and analysis accurately and on time
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required

What you will bring:

  • Previous Finance related experience, as asset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Strong prioritization skills and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
