Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant.

  • Full Time Permanent Contract
  • 39 hours per week.
  • Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
  • Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.

The accounts assistant will provide essential support to the UK finance team. This is an interesting and broad role that will span the full mix of financial duties and develop financial skillset.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for AP, supplier payments and supplier recs for regional office and Bournemouth
  • Assist the Wrexham purchase ledger team with posting of invoices and supplier reconciliations.
  • Assist in sales ledger administration as required
  • Production of the daily sales KPI
  • Posting of cashbook entries
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Responsible for Wrexham Fixed Asset register postings and reconciliation
  • Posting of month end journals
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ad hoc tasks as requested

Position Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Willingness to study or currently studying an accounting qualification (AAT)
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and accounting software packages
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels
  • Team player who takes ownership and to complete tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent IT skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of SAP S4/Hana
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing organisation
