We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the Food & Food Processing industry, based in Ottawa, Ontario. This role involves a significant amount of data entry and requires a meticulous approach to managing and inputting invoices.Responsibilities:
- Accurately inputting a high volume of invoices into the accounting system.
- Handling the Accounts Payable (AP) function, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Conducting regular bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
- Proactively monitoring customer accounts and initiating appropriate actions as required.
- Ensuring the maintenance of precise customer credit records.
- Processing customer credit applications with diligence and precision.
- Resolving customer inquiries in a detail oriented and timely manner.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role within the Food & Food Processing industry.
- Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and systems.
- Demonstrated ability in handling bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably with experience in industry-specific platforms.
- Excellent numerical, financial, and business acumen.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial information.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
