- Recruitment range: $64,629 – $67,486 maximum starting salary is determined through knowledge, experience and internal equity.
- Performance range: starting salary to max of $71,504 is available through annual performance increases.
Job SummaryThis role provides comprehensive administrative and coordination support for the Office of the President. As an integral member of the team, this position is responsible for providing calendaring and administrative support for the Executive Director, drafting presidential correspondence, coordinating high-level committee meetings, supporting events, supporting financial accounting processes and ensuring efficient office administrative activities. This position also provides support to the President in the Executive Coordinator’s absence. The Administrative Coordinator is part of a team that centres equity, diversity, inclusion, Indigenous rights, an access-centered culture and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in their work.Job RequirementsSkills:

- Advanced organizational, administrative and office coordination skills, with significant attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, including preparing memos, reviewing and editing reports, summarizing information and creating materials for wide-ranging audiences.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft applications, with willingness to learn UVic online systems, including FMIS, Chrome River and FAST Finance.
- Excellent people skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, to contribute to good office morale and to show respect and sensitivity in all dealings.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize high volumes of accurate work with competing deadlines.
- Excellent writing skills to create materials for wide-ranging audiences.
- Takes a flexible, creative and collaborative approach and adapts quickly to changing circumstances.
- Takes initiative, makes informed decisions and can problem solve and be innovative in a team setting.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of issues and policies related to confidentiality, security and privacy to deal successfully with a typical range of office issues.

- Understanding of the role of the President and the office of the President within the university, is an asset.

Specialized Knowledge/ Education:
Secondary school graduation or equivalent and some related post-secondary course work.Experience:
3+ years’ experience working in a professional office environment, preferably within an executive office setting in a large, complex and busy environment.
