Job Description:

The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a highly professional individual to provide direct administrative support to the Chair of Emergency Medicine, Vice Chair of Administrative Affairs, and the Executive Leadership for the department. This position collaborates with leadership and manages high-level duties for the administrative function of the department. This position will have the opportunity to conduct and oversee special projects and assist with the development, evaluation and implementation of administrative policies and procedures.

Responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Serve in the crucial role as a public contact for the Chair by answering inquiries by email and acting in the Chairs interest when communicating with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Aid the Chair, Vice Chair, and Executive Leadership with daily and long-term organizational demands by assisting with all scheduling. 

  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice Chair on the Promotion and Tenure process by preparing correspondence requesting reviewers to review packets, gathering vital packet information and tracking progress of packets. 

  • Manage faculty event planning including; scheduling the venue, coordinating catering for the event, reviewing event vendor contracts, and overseeing all details associated with the event. 

  • Prepare professional communication such as emails and other correspondence in conjunction with department leadership and on behalf of the Chair. 

  • Opportunity to conduct and oversee special projects at the directive of department leadership.

Expected Salary:

$55,000 – $61,000; commensurate with education and experience. 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills. 

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 

  • Ability to prioritize several tasks. 

  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as appropriate per specific assignments.
