For more information on diversity and inclusion, please visit: .For further information about Treasury Board and Finance, see our website at .Role ResponsibilitiesThe Ministry of Treasury Board and Finance has an exciting opportunity and is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team!As the Administrative Assistant, you will support the Economic and Fiscal Policy (EFP) team who are responsible for the development, interpretation and analysis of economic, fiscal and statistical data. EFP provides analysis of major issues influencing Alberta’s finances including tax policy, economic and demographic trends, and advocating for productivity enhancing reforms to major federal transfers.Reporting to the Issues Manager in the Assistant Deputy Minister’s Office (ADMO), the incumbent is responsible for the smooth and efficient delivery of comprehensive administrative support to the division, including publication copy edit review. This position also regularly supports the Executive Director’s offices and provides back up to the Executive Assistant in the ADMO.In your role as the Administrative Support, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide support the Executive Director offices, including calendar management, expense reporting and travel arrangements.
- Support the team’s administrative needs for legislative and policy development activities.
- Triage, track and process ARs including negotiating timelines and redirects.
- Program support for publications produced by Economic and revenue Forecasting and the Office of Statistics and Information units. This includes coordinating requests from units to communications for publishing and review of draft publications for spelling, grammar and formatting.
- Manage the team’s financials (budget preparation, forecasting, purchasing, contracts and invoices).
- Support managing the team’s human resources, training and IT requirements.
- Building strong relationships with team, branch and divisional staff, as well as other key department staff and stakeholders.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders.
- Have excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Adobe and SharePoint.

.QualificationsThis position requires a high school diploma and several years of experience including experience with diverse software like MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, tasks, and SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, ability to navigate internet sites and SharePoints, ARTs, 1GX, etc.Experience with InDesign and InCopy are considered an asset. This position requires developed written/verbal communication, and proofreading skills. Working knowledge and understanding of Alberta Government’s branch and department regulations and procedures is considered an asset.Equivalencies may be considered:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
