An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dietitian with previous experience, or relevant transferable skills and knowledge to join the North Wales Specialist Adult Eating Disorder Service (SAEDS). As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will be providing input into the newly developing Early Intervention (Tier 1 & 2) – service and the existing Tier 3 service.SAEDS provide specialist input into the care and treatment of patients with Eating Disorders across BCUHB. The team further provide appropriate input and support to patients and staff in the three District General Hospitals, Psychiatric Units and Community Mental Health Teams across this region. The post holder will have responsibility for the clinical assessment and dietetic provision of patients who have eating disorders.The post holder will be responsible for covering a specific area (West/Central BCUHB) with flexibility to cover other patches when needed. This is a full time post, however we are also open to consideration of part-time hours. Work base is Cartref, Bryn y Neuadd Hospital, Llanfairfechan.If you have experience or a passion for supporting adults with eating disorders and enjoy being part of a team, then this could be the post for you!Main duties of the jobThe primary role of this post will be to provide dietetic assessment and interventions for adults with eating disorders. The post holder will undertake a significant clinical caseload to an advanced professional standard, using highly developed specialist knowledge and expertise, this being underpinned by advanced theoretical knowledge and/or practical experience.The post holder will be required to see patients face to face and/or over MS Teams in various clinical settings such as GP surgeries, Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), Acute/Community Hospital Settings, Psychiatric Units and work base. Collaborative working with primary and secondary care staff in health and mental health care settings is essential which necessitates highly effective communication skills. Dietetic provision will follow the latest national and /or local guidelines for the recognition and treatment of eating disorders.In addition, the post holder will provide supervision, guidance and support to Band 6 Dietitians and Generic Assistants. Extensive working knowledge of all areas of clinical governance including quality, audit and risk management. Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession. In-depth understanding of statistics and their evaluation and experience of their use.
