We are currently looking for a hardworking, determined individual to support our Advice Manager and team to deliver outstanding service to our students, by providing high-quality, independent academic advice, support for students living in halls, and advocating for students through complaints and disciplinaries. The ideal candidate will have experience of administration (either academic or in a similar role), and an understanding of confidentiality.
You will have excellent administration and communication skills and be someone who is looking to develop these further as we are committed to supporting your professional development. You will be able to operate with autonomy as well as be able to balance competing priorities in this exciting post, which is in a fast-paced but ultimately rewarding environment.
Duties and responsibilities
The Advice Administrator is a meaningful role that will be incremental in supporting the Advice Manager and team to deliver high-quality, free and impartial advice to students at Imperial College London. The role contributes to Imperial College Union’s strategic goal to support student wellbeing.

- General duties such as attending relevant committee meetings, and working with student leaders

Please note although the role is based at South Kensington Campus, there will be some travel expected to other Imperial College campuses.
Essential requirements
- A Levels or equivalent
- Experience of providing administrative support to a busy organisation
- Experience of supporting students or vulnerable people with queries
- Experience of working in a client-facing role
- Experience of writing reports
- Experience of giving presentations
- Understanding of confidentiality, and the ability to ensure this is maintained
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent administration and organisation abilities
- Ability to work effectively on your own as well as in a team
- Commitment to the Union’s values of integrity, democracy, inclusivity, accountability, and ambition
