Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment team as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to perform as part of the Aircraft Maintenance Team, supporting the F-35 Flight Operations at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada. This position supervises aircraft production, provides technical assistance, and sets maintenance priorities.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Build, manage, and maintain the sites OPNAV 8023.24 Navy Personnel Conventional Ammunition and Explosives Handling Qualification and Certification Program.
  • Integrates with the host squadron, advises host squadron of schedule requirement and production issues as they pertain to squadron aircraft.
  • Manages general services, repairs, and overhauls of aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight.
  • Creates and assigns work-orders in the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) and accomplishes aircraft safety of flight releases as required.
  • Candidate may supervise multiple maintenance disciplines in an integrated workforce environment that consists of Military and Lockheed Martin employees.
  • Ensure workforce follows appropriate technical instructions, OPNAV 8023.24, NAMP 4790.2C and NAMP 4790.35 local operating instructions.
  • Advises management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Ensures good housekeeping and safety practices are enforced.
  • Considered candidates must be capable of working first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) shift(s) dependent on customer needs.
  • Candidates should expect to depart on temporary duty assignments with short notice, dependent on customer or LM ICS needs to include stateside or overseas. This may include certain military required health screenings and immunizations.
  • Security Clearance Required. Must have at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance AND must be able to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

– 6 years minimum fighter aircraft maintenance experience with thorough understanding of Fighter Aircraft Systems and flight line operations.

– 8 years OPNAV 8023.24 Navy Personnel Conventional Ammunition and Explosives Handling Qualification and Certification Program experience (experience must be within the last 6 years)

– Leadership experience in an aircraft maintenance environment.

– Experience with such programs as Aircraft Scheduling/Records Management, Job/Maintenance Control, Configuration Control, Maintenance Information System, Tool and FOD, E-Time Accounting, Training, Safety, Security, Hazardous Waste Management or Supply Chain Management

Desired skills

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:

– Chair or Board program member for the OPNAV 8023.24 Navy Personnel Conventional Ammunition and Explosives Handling Qualification and Certification Program.
-F-35 or Fifth generation aircraft maintenance experience
– Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) experience
– Understanding of USN Maintenance Practices
– Strong verbal and written communications skills for
coordinating with Field Service Representatives, and Maintenance Managers on schedules, aircraft status and issues as they occur.
– Effective communication skills for coordination at all levels throughout the NAS Fallon structure to include Operations, Maintenance, and Logistics Support Managers
– Proficient in the use Microsoft Office products
– Ability to develop and present formal briefings and presentations.
– Ability to develop necessary maintenance plans and procedures.
– Ability to develop work schedules and assign tasks.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
