Alumni Officer, Edwards School of BusinessPrimary Purpose: Building and maintaining strong relationships with alumni and donors is pivotal to the Edwards School of Business. Our Alumni Officer ensures organization, maintenance and administration of alumni and donor stewardship, engagement and reporting.Nature of Work:
This work is a proactive approach to donor and alumni engagement. Reporting into the Director of Advancement, this role works closely with the entire advancement team to ensuring consistent, timely, and meaningful engagement with Edwards alumni and donors.This position requires evaluation and sharp decision-making skills with the creation, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of advancement activities and events. This position builds collaborative professional relationships with alumni, donors, students, co-workers and friends to the Edwards School of Business ensuring trust and collaboration.The work requires accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The position requires some travel and occasional work in the evening and on weekends.Typical Duties or Accountabilities:
– Create a positive first point of contact for college stakeholders and independently makes judgements on how to direct inquiries.
– Develop, execute, manage and report on alumni engagement strategy, creating value add opportunities for Edwards alumni around the world.
– Identify and cultivate a specific group of alumni, working to create a high level of engagement with the college.
– Monitor the news, LinkedIn, and other sources to learn about alumni’s achievements and engage with them through LinkedIn messenger, emails, and phone calls. Collect data on their interests to determine an opportunity for engagement with the college.
– Build collaborative relationships and partnerships that positively affects the reputation, relationships, and fundraising goals of the college.
– Implement intricate story telling about the Edwards alumni population through podcast, web articles, YouTube, and social media, creating a mutually beneficial relationship with the college.
– Develop and manage a widely listened to podcast that shares alumni personal success stories to inspire and promote the Edwards alumni community. This includes idea generation, alumni scouting, connection, episode formulating, recording, producing, and promoting.
– Using social media to grow the success and following of the podcast and further promote alumni stories. Utilizing primarily Instagram and Tik Tok to grow the reach of the podcast to a wider audience outside of the university core.
– Work closely with the Edwards Marketing and Communications team to develop and implement social media campaigns to promote alumni stories on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Includes engaging alumni to be featured, creating content, connecting with faculty for their involvement, creating collateral for Instagram lives.
– Partner with faculty or the Edwards Experiential Learning Initiative (EELI) to bring alumni into classrooms and workshops to teach a class on a related topic outside of the regular Edwards curriculum.
– Develop a pipeline for students to make connections with alumni in the workforce, develop networking skills, and leave Edwards with connections and a job. (Making connections between students and alumni).
– Facilitate better student engagement to increase the collective community of Edwards to promote better alumni engagement in the future.
– Perform regular data collection through surveying, micro-surveying, informational interviews, and phone calls to continuously adjust the strategy to best fit the wants of alumni.
– Create and implement alumni relations metrics and reporting practices. Ongoing review of alumni support functions: making recommendations, analyzing, and implementing change when required.
– Collaborate and coordinate with the communications officer to maintain and update alumni relations section of the website.
– Support communications officer in identifying and developing communications pieces that support alumni relations strategy.
– Build strong relationships with faculty and staff to create a strong affinity for on campus Edwards alum ensuring they are strong advocates for the school.
– Utilize the expertise of Edwards faculty members to engage alumni.
– Other duties as assigned.Education:
A relevant undergraduate degree and appropriate training and experience in a related field. A professional designation may be considered. A combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.Experience:
Three to five years of directly related experience or appropriate combination of experience and education will be considered.Experience in post-secondary, not-for-profit or similarly complex environment ideally in the role of fundraising, customer service, donor relations, communications or alumni relations.Knowledge of the University of Saskatchewan and an understanding of fundraising, alumni and donor relations, financial experience, event support, would be an asset.Skills:

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $67,681.00 – 105,753.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
