Required Qualifications
Education:
PhD Psychologist licensed by BSRB. The candidate must hold a doctoral level license or eligible for licensure in the state of Kansas
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience:
Experience in an outpatient setting and previous academic experience is desirable.

Job Duties

  • Provide assessment, psychotherapy, counseling and support for patients with chronic medical conditions in a patient centered medical home setting.

  • Maintain a productive clinical practice at the Medical Center with Comprehensive Primary Care Services and Behavioral Health Primary Care Integration model.

  • Work effectively within the General Medicine Clinic, Adult Outpatients and Inpatient programs and with external mental health agencies to facilitate continuity of patient care and mental health assessment and follow-up.

  • Develop and/or continue academic pursuits consistent with the academic mission.

  • Participate in and contribute performance improvement processes.

  • Participate in departmental committees and activities, faculty meetings, and in hospital and medical school committees.

  • Accommodate anticipated clinical growth and comprehensive primary care model. An embedded health psychologist will lead to better overall outcomes and patient satisfaction.

  • Support the integration of behavioral health in primary care setting.

  • Collaborate with primary care providers to address mental health issues that impact chronic medical conditions.

  • Additional duties as may be assigned.
