CDS is Canada’s national securities depository, clearing and settlement hub for domestic and cross-border depository-eligible securities. It supports Canada’s equity, fixed income and money markets and is accountable for the safe custody and movement of securities, the processing of post-trade transactions, and the collection and distribution of entitlements relating to securities deposited by participants.Reporting to Manager CDS Collateral & Banking, you are accountable for ensuring complete and timely processing as well as supporting CDS participants in areas such as:
- Collateral management, Securities and Cash
- Bank of Canada Lynx large value transfer system payments
- US Banks fed wires
- Ongoing client support
Key accountabilitiesPoint person for setting and follow on participants satisfying their collateral requirementsEnsuring successful launch and daily execution of the monitored processesBuilding and documenting proceduresCentral point of contact for clients, and ongoing client engagement to ensure client needs are met and solutions are providedProvide high level knowledge of technical and analytical expertise regarding Collateral/Banking/SettlementsEnsure full Cash Reconciliation with all Bank accountsEnsure successful completion of end of day Payment ExchangeEnsure complete and accurate Issuer Credit RatingEnsure processing the CNS Buyins by the established deadlinesBack up for the Banking AnalystRelationship Management with Regulators, Internal and External Audit, Risk Management, Finance and Technology partnersStrict adherence to internal procedures, rules, audit requirements and internal controls verification processesMakes recommendations using professional judgment, guided by known practicesWork on Canadian Holidays when the USA is open for Banking and Collateral functionsMust havesPost-Secondary education in Business Administration and/or Accounting is preferredMinimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in the Securities Financial IndustrySolid knowledge in Operations or Securities Accounting in the Securities Financial IndustryExperience in handling wires, in both setting and approving online paymentsStrong proficiency with Google and other desktop applicationsSolid organization skills with the demonstrated ability to plan and prioritizeAdvanced technical and analytical skillsAbility to propose operational solutions and solve moderately complex problems specific to a project or assignmentSelf-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision, as well as a team playerDetailed and results orientedNice to havesProficient in Microsoft / Google suiteSolid interpersonal skillsEffective listening, written and verbal communication skillsNote:Hybrid working model in downtown of MontrealIn the market for…Excitement – Explore emerging technology and innovation, as well as ventures and digital finance that shape the future of global markets!
