Job SummaryJob DescriptionNote: This is an on-site position and the incumbent will be required to be in the office to carry out assigned job responsibilities.What is the opportunity?The Mid-Market Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Group is seeking an Analyst to support the Origination team in Toronto. The Mid-Market M&A team is a strategically important business unit that provides a value added services offering. This position is ideally suited for a candidate seeking investment banking experience with entrepreneurial clients. Mandates include the sale of privately owned businesses and non-core divisions, acquisitions, shareholder and management buyouts, and capital advisory services.What will you do?Provide administrative and sales support to the Origination Team based in TorontoAssist in preparation of internal and external marketing materialsConduct thorough research on companies and industries and delivery of concise summariesSupport team in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clientsEstablish relationships and collaborate with key RBC partners including Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, and Wealth ManagementGenerating new business pipeline through prospecting outbound opportunitiesWhat do you need to succeed?Must-have:A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in commerce or business administration, or related experienceDemonstrated success in a business development role, especially with respect to the acquisition of new clients, and prospectingStrong computer literacy with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel presentation skillsAbility to use research tools to extract relevant background material for business development and transaction supportStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment under time constraintsEntrepreneurial attitude and self-motivation to achieve above average resultsAbility to prioritize, commit to a task with excellent attention to detail, and perform well under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines as this is frequently not a 9-to-5 environmentNice to have:CPA, CFA, CBV or other relevant professional designation or relevant advanced degree – ongoing or completedWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
