Job Description

As the Analyst, Payment Management, you will report directly to the Supervisor, Payment Management and will be part of AIM’s Finance Shared Services Center at our head office in Montréal, Canada.

Your main responsibilities will be to issue outgoing payments to AIM vendors, clients, and intercompany parties.

  • Review, analyze, and process payment transactions (Check, EFT/ACH, and Wire), ensuring accuracy and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, locate missing payments, and provide remittance information.
  • Maintain accurate and organized payment records, supporting documentation, and audit trails.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of payment files sent to the bank, identifying and resolving discrepancies as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies related to payment processing and data security.
  • Communicate payment-related information effectively and professionally to vendors, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Support migration of cheque and wire-paid customers to automated EFT or ACH.
  • Post and support the reconciliation pre-authorized payment transactions or advances with their associated payables.
  • Coordinate payment recalls, re-issuances, and stale-dated payments.
  • Collaborate with the Treasury Department for cash flow management,
  • Collaborate with Finance Divisions for bank reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar function.
  • Post-secondary education in an accounting or business-related field.
  • Good general understanding of computer systems and accounting software.
  • Very detailed-oriented and not susceptible to errors.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different situations and be proactive when facing challenges.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of payments.
  • Good organisational skills, rigor, and autonomy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingualism (French/English)
