What you will do
The Bank of Canada’s Screening team has a vital responsibility for protecting the Bank’s physical and logical assets by ensuring that anyone who requires access to those assets undergoes rigorous scrutiny to ensure their reliability, trustworthiness and loyalty.

Under the general direction of the Manager of Security Screening, you are responsible for reliability and/or clearances screening requests and monitoring the Mintz portal to collect results and conduct follow-ups in cases of delays or issues with verification submissions. You trigger and manage Reliability status renewals and manage addition of profiles, extensions and off-boarding and in the Security Access System onsite. You ensure all paper and electronic files derived by the screening process is stored and safeguarded properly, while ensuring that the screening database is kept up to date.

You act as a client liaison for various areas within the Bank, such as Human Resources, Information Technology Services (ITS), hiring managers and executive administrative assistants. You work closely with the Bank’s Kiosque within the ITS Department for onboarding new employees, which includes creating screening workflows for other teams such within ITS to grant assets and access.

Finally, you assist the screening manager on “screening and access” daily operational request. You also you act as a change champion on continuous improvement initiatives within the team to enhance operations.

What you need to succeed
We are looking for a team player who is highly organized, is articulate and innovative and who can coach, train and encourage others. You are results oriented, you proactively prioritize tasks, and manage deliverables in a timely manner and with a high degree of quality. You are an effective communicator, which enables you to partner productively with clients. You have a strong sense of initiative and self-management and you align work activities with team, departmental and stakeholder goals. Your analytical and innovative mindset combined with a results-oriented attitude will enable you to succeed in this role.

You are a quick learner and can optimize the use of new technology solutions. You have advanced technical skills with Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, graphs), Word and Outlook, and intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint.

Your education and experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Criminology, Business Administration or another related field and a minimum of one year of relevant experience. We may also consider a combination of education and experience.

What you need to know

  • Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
  • Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
  • Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Secret

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $62,385 to $73,395 (job grade 13)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 3 to 5% of your base salary. The Bank offers performance pay for those who exceed expectations (7% of your base salary).. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
